About TrailGuard AI System

- TrailGuard AI is an early alert system using 100-150 AI-enabled cameras.
- These cameras capture images of people and wildlife entering the forest.
- The AI model analyzes these images to detect poachers.

Similipal Tiger Reserve

- The Tiger reserve is Located in Mayurbhanj district of northern Odisha.
- Designated as a Tiger Reserve in 1956.
- Joined Project Tiger in 1973 to protect tigers.
- Recognized as a Biosphere Reserve in 1994.
- UNESCO Recognition: Became Part of the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves since 2009.
- Part of a Larger Elephant Reserve:
- Forms part of the Similipal-Kuldiha-Hadgarh Elephant Reserve, also known as the Mayurbhanj Elephant Reserve.
- This reserve includes three protected areas:
- Similipal Tiger Reserve
- Hadagarh Wildlife Sanctuary
- Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary
- Surroundings and Terrain: Surrounded by high plateaus and hills.
- Highest peaks: Khairiburu and Meghashini, both rising to 1515 meters above sea level.
