A pivotal moment emerged when Kejriwal collaborated with the renowned social activist Anna Hazare in the early 2010s, advocating for the Jan Lokpal bill. This marked a transformative juncture. Kejriwal proceeded to establish the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and participated in the 2013 Delhi assembly election, securing 28 out of 70 seats. He formed a coalition government with the Indian National Congress and took office as the Chief Minister. However, his tenure was short-lived, lasting only 49 days, as he couldn’t pass the Jan Lokpal bill.
Subsequent events unfolded, including the 16th Lok Sabha Election where he contested in the Varanasi constituency against Narendra Modi, and the 2015 Delhi assembly election where his party achieved an extraordinary 67 out of 70 seats, leading to his return as Delhi’s seventh Chief Minister.
