Upon his return, he became actively involved in the freedom movement and even served as Mahatma Gandhi’s personal physician for a brief period. Mehta’s contributions extended beyond his Chief Minister role; he held important positions, including being the first “Dewan” (Prime Minister) of the former Baroda State. His dedication and service continued even after his Chief Ministership, as he later took on the role of India’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 1963 to 1966.
Narendra Modi

On September 12, 2021, Bhupendra Patel received significant support to lead the BJP legislative party, subsequently taking on the mantle of Chief Minister of Gujarat.
