During the recent G20 Leaders’ Summit held in New Delhi, a historic moment unfolded as leaders adopted the New Delhi Declaration. What made this declaration particularly significant was the unanimous consensus among all 83 paragraphs, with even China and Russia in agreement. Remarkably, this declaration had no footnotes or Chair’s Summary, signifying its comprehensive nature.
Furthermore, the New Delhi Declaration stood out as the most ambitious to date, comprising 112 outcomes, including annexed documents—more than twice the usual content. Another notable highlight was the launch of the Global Biofuels Alliance, inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in the presence of global leaders like US President Joe Biden, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio, Argentine President Alberto Fernández, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Notably, India’s G20 Presidency welcomed a historic development—the inclusion of the African Union (AU) as a permanent member of the G20. Prime Minister Modi warmly invited the AU Chairperson to assume a permanent seat at the G20 table, marking a significant moment in global diplomacy and cooperation.
