Today, as we observe Kargil Vijay Diwas, we pay heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed for our beloved country during the 60-day-long battle.
India Celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas: The nation stands united in commemorating the gallant triumph of the Indian Army over Pakistani troops in the rugged terrains of Kargil, Ladakh, in 1999. Today, as we observe Kargil Vijay Diwas, we pay heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed for our beloved country during the 60-day-long battle. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the valor and dedication displayed by our armed forces in safeguarding India’s honor and dignity.
The main event to mark Kargil Vijay Diwas was held at the solemn Kargil War Memorial in Drass, a place that witnessed some of the fiercest battles of the Kargil War. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Manoj Pande, Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar, and other top Army Commanders graced the ceremony with their presence. Also in attendance was the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brig (Retd) BD Mishra, and numerous other dignitaries. Together, they came to pay their respects and lay wreaths at the memorial, honoring the courageous souls who gave their lives for the country.
Addressing the gathering, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh delivered a powerful speech reaffirming the government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the honor and dignity of the nation. He stressed that the authorities would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers are never forgotten. “The government will go to any extent to maintain the honour and dignity of the country,” the Raksha Mantri concluded. The Defense Minister’s resolute words served as a source of inspiration to the audience, reminding us all of the importance of preserving the unity and sovereignty of India.
In his address, Army Chief General Manoj Pande emphasized the ever-evolving nature of threats faced by the armed forces. He urged the nation to be prepared for more complex challenges in the future and called upon the armed forces to adapt and enhance their readiness.
