Health Incentive Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Digital Health Incentive Scheme (DHIS) has been <\/span><b>extended for a year <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by the central Government.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme was <\/span><b>launched on January 1, 2023<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and is now<\/span><b> extended till June 30, 2025<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>The Digital Health Incentive Scheme (DHIS)<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is meant for <\/span><b>digitising patients\u2019 health records and linking them with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Account (ABHA ID).<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Launched by<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><b>National Health Authority (NHA)\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Objective:\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>promote digital health transactions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the country and also provide a boost to the healthcare providers for adopting digital health.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>To\u00a0 incentivise providers of digital health solutions such as hospital\u2019s health management information system (HMIS) and laboratory management information system (LMIS) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to make available the right software at an affordable cost<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Incentive Based:\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Government and private hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, diagnostic labs, and pharmacies are paid Rs 20 for each additional record<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> they digitise, over and above the threshold of 100 transactions a month.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme is <\/span><b>applicable to both public and private hospital<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s and <\/span><b>digital solution companies (DSCs)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> creating digital health records which can earn incentives up to Rs 4 crores.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Public Digital Solution Companies include<\/span><b> companies such as National Informatics Centre (NIC) and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which provide <\/span><b>eHospital and eSushrut solutions <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to government hospitals.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Significance:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Financial Incentive:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To help hospitals<\/span><b> reimburse their expenditure on digitising<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> their facility which was reported to be a hindrance for hospitals to move to digital health.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Boosting Hospital Digital Infrastructure: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme is on the lines of the incentives given for promotion of UPI by <\/span><b>incenivising Hospitals and clinics have to install computers and laptops, purchase an internet connection, and software <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(HMIS\/LMIS) to go digital.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Ease for Patients:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> DHIS enables<\/span><b> better healthcare services and more convenience <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for patients by enabling digital transactions in the form of <\/span><b>reduced waiting time, avail quick OPD registrations by scanning\u00a0 a QR code\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Streamline Healthcare Records<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Patients can also s<\/span><b>ecurely view, access, and share their health records<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the care providers specifically benefiting the migrant workers and patients travelling from one state to another<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span ID)<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>ABHA ID is a unique 14 digit identification <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">identity for people, like an Aadhaar ID allowing one to store and share their medical records digitally.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As per NHA, around <\/span><b>64 crore ABHA IDs have been created<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ID is l<\/span><b>inked to the digital framework of the hospitals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and all the <\/span><b>patients records are linked to it.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This ID can then be <\/span><b>used to securely store, access, and share the healthcare records<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, such as doctor\u2019s prescriptions, diagnostic test
