color: #000000;\">Notably, on 23rd May 2019, NSSO transformed into the National Statistical Office (NSO) following its merger with the Central Statistical Office (CSO).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Ministry: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NSO is <\/span><b>overseen by the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation (MOSPI).\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Functions:\u00a0<\/b><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Sample Survey Office(NSSO) headed by a Director General is responsible for <\/span><b>conducting large scale sample surveys in diverse fields on an All India basis.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Primarily data are collected<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through nation-wide household surveys on various socio-economic subjects, Annual Survey of Industries (ASI), etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besides these surveys, NSSO collects<\/span><b> data on rural and urban prices<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and plays a significant role in the <\/span><b>improvement of crop statistics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through supervision of the area enumeration and crop estimation surveys of the State agencies.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also <\/span><b>maintains a frame of urban area units for use in sample surveys in urban areas.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>First Exclusive All-India Survey on Ayush<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>first exclusive all-India survey on Ayush<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was conducted by the <\/span><b>National Sample Survey Office (NSSO)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from July 2022 to June 2023 as part of the <\/span><b>79th round of the National Sample Survey (NSS).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This survey <\/span><b>covered the entire country, excluding a few inaccessible villages in the Andaman &#038;
