resources have been discovered in the Salal-Haimana area of Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>About Lithium:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>soft, silvery-white<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> alkali metal.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under standard conditions, it is the<\/span><b> lightest metal <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and the lightest solid element.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lithium is<\/span><b> highly reactive and flammable<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and is stored in mineral oil.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Uses:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lithium is one of the key components in <\/span><b>electric vehicle (EV) batteries.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lithium is used also in<\/span><b> batteries for gadgets like laptops and mobile phones<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has also found <\/span><b>application in the glass<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and ceramics industries.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>World Lithium reserves:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lithium resources are <\/span><b>concentrated<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a <\/span><b>few places.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>For Example:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Around 50 percent of the world\u2019s lithium deposits are found in the salt flats of Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Lithium Triangle:\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an intersection of <\/span><b>Chile, Bolivia and Argentina,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> known for high quality salt flats.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Salar de Uyuni<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Bolivia,<\/span><b> Salar de Atacama <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in Chile and <\/span><b>Salar de Arizaro<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Argentina contain over 50% of known global lithium reserves.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Australia <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also has around <\/span><b>2.7 million tonnes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of lithium resources.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>China<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> controls<\/span><b> 60 percent of the world&#8217;s capacity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for processing raw lithium products into batteries.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Lithium and India:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Mines ministry had said that <\/span><b>to strengthen the critical mineral supply chain<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for emerging technologies, the government was taking several measures to secure minerals, including lithium, from Australia and Argentina.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently, India is import dependent for many minerals like lithium, nickel and cobalt.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, <\/span><b>Khanij Bidesh India Ltd<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has inked<\/span><b> a pact with an Argentine firm<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to jointly prospect lithium in Argentina.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:
