border-style: solid; border-color: #000000; background-color: rgba(184, 165, 217, 0.53); text-align: left; vertical-align: middle;\">\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 16pt; color: #000000;\"><b>Tea Tribe<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The tea tribe refers to a<\/span><b> multi-cultural, multi-ethnic community of tea garden workers <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and their descendants.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These people migrated from Central India, mainly from present-day <\/span><b>Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal.<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They settled in Assam in the<\/span><b> 19th century <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to work in tea gardens established by the British.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><\/div>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><b>Significance and Celebrations<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jhumur is performed during the<\/span><b> harvest season. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It plays a central role in \u201ctea garden festivals\u201d celebrated by tea garden workers in Assam.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other major tea garden festivals include <\/span><b>Tushu Puja and Karam Puja<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, both of which celebrate the harvest.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><b>Performance Style<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women are the primary dancers and singers, while men play musical instruments such as the <\/span><b>madal, dhol, dhak, flutes, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>cymbals.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Traditional attire includes<\/span><b> red and white sarees,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which are particularly popular among women.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><b>Themes of Jhumur Songs<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although Jhumur songs are lively and rhythmic, many of them <\/span><b>depict the hardships faced by tea plantation workers.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The lyrics narrate stories of<\/span><b> migration, exploitation,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>the social struggles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the tea garden community.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"vc_table_green\"><\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 99.6375%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 111.19%;
