400;\">near<\/span><b> Baja California Sur coast, Mexico.<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>\u00a0About:\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Oarfish <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a <\/span><b>deep-sea fish<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with a <\/span><b>long, ribbon-like body.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can grow<\/span><b> over 30 feet in length<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, making it<\/span><b> one of the longest bony fish in the world.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They have a unique &#8220;rowing&#8221; motion when swimming.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Habitat: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oarfish usually inhabit the <\/span><b>deep-sea mesopelagic zone (up to 1,000 meters)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where <\/span><b>light does not reach,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> making their appearances near the surface extremely rare.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Biological Features and Adaptations:\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Silvery, reflective body: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Acts as<\/span><b> camouflage <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in deep-sea environments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Large Eyes: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aid in <\/span><b>detecting faint light in dark waters.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Vertical Floating: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They are often<\/span><b> seen floating vertically,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which helps them blend with the water column.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Filter Feeding: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oarfish primarily consume small marine organisms such as krill, small crustaceans and plankton.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Reason behind calling Oarfish a \u2018Doomsday Fish\u2019: Japanese folklore<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dating back to the <\/span><b>17th century<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> suggests that the <\/span><b>appearance of the oarfish near shore foretells impending disasters.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This notion was <\/span><b>reinforced in 2011<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when <\/span><b>20 oarfish<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> washed up on Japanese shores Initiative<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Objective:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Aims to<\/span><b> standardize and streamline operations across India\u2019s major ports,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> removing inconsistencies in documentation and processes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Significance of the Initiative:\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reduces inefficiencies, operational delays, and cuts logistics costs to boost global
