ever \u201cHimalayan High Altitude Atmospheric and Climate Research Centre\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has also been inaugurated.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: Indian scientists and researchers from ETH Z\u00fcrich, Switzerland<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Aim: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project aims at <\/span><b>exploring the properties of ice nucleating particles and cloud condensation nuclei in the region.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Significance: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To understand the <\/span><b>role of aerosols in cloud microphysics and their broader implications<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on climate systems and precipitation in the Himalayan Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures for World Health Day on April 7, 2025.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The theme emphasizes preventing diseases like diabetes starting in the womb, ensuring better health for mothers and<\/span><b> children.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><b>About GDM<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It refers to<\/span><b> Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GSM).<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GDM is a type of diabetes that occurs d<\/span><b>uring pregnancy and increases the risk of:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Type <\/span><b>2 diabetes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in mothers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Metabolic <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kerala and Tamil Nadu will conduct a synchronised census of the Nilgiri Tahr from April 24 to 27, 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><b>Census Coverage and methods<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Kerala<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: 89 census blocks across 20 forest divisions, from Thiruvananthapuram to Wayanad.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Tamil Nadu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: 176 census blocks in Nilgiri Tahr habitats.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The census will cover India.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is also the state animal of <\/span><b>Tamil Nadu.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The adult males of Nilgiri Tahr species develop a light grey area or \u201c<\/span><b>saddle<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d on their backs and are called <\/span><b>\u201cSaddlebacks\u201d.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is known for its ability to climb steep and rocky terrains<\/span><b>.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Protection Status<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Nilgiri Tahr is Address Vitamin D Deficiency in India\u2019, one in five Indians suffer from Vitamin D deficiency.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><b>About Vitamin D<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">crucial for calcium absorption, bone health, muscle strength, immunity and mental well-being.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is known as the<\/span><b> &#8220;sunshine vitamin&#8221;<\/b><span
