aria-level=\"1\"><b>Preparation of Electoral Rolls: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It lays down the procedure for the preparation of electoral rolls for <\/span><b>parliamentary, assembly and council constituencies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by appointing electoral officers such as the <\/span><b>Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), the District Election Officer (DEO), and the 1951\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Representation of the People Act, 1950 did not\u00a0 have all the provisions related\u00a0 to elections.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The provisions for conducting\u00a0 elections to the Houses of Parliament and to the House or Houses of the Legislature of each State, the <\/span><b>qualifications and disqualifications <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for the membership of these Houses, the <\/span><b>corrupt practices<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and other <\/span><b>election offences<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the decision of <\/span><b>election disputes <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">were all left to be made in a subsequent measure.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to provide for these provisions, the Representation of the People Act, 1951 was enacted.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Election offences<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Election Disputes<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bye-elections<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"
