There are numerous such traditions across the country. Some of them are:<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><b>Sculpture Tradition: Dhokra Casting&#8217;s Intricate Metal Craft from Bastar and Beyond<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Region:\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dhokra or metal sculptures made from <\/span><b>lost wax or cire perdue technique<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is one of the most prominent metal crafts of Bastar, Chhattisgarh, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Midnapore in West Bengal.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dhokra casting is an elaborate process.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Lost Wax Casting: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It involves the casting of bronze through the <\/span><b>lost wax method.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<th style=\"width: 100%; border-style: solid; border-color: #000000; background-color: #e9ebe8; vertical-align: middle;\"><b>Additional Information<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The metal craftsmen of Bastar are called <\/span><b>ghadwa. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In popular etymology, the term \u2018ghadwa\u2019 means the act of shaping and creating.<\/span><\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Core Figure Creation: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Black soil from the riverbank is mixed with rice husk and kneaded with water.
