IAS Age Limit – Cut-off Date, Relaxation, and Attempts Limit

The IAS age limit for UPSC Exam 2024 plays a significant role in shaping your preparation timeline. Here are key factors to consider and utilize to your advantage:

  • Cut-off Date: The UPSC notification, typically issued in February, determines the age calculation date. This sets the framework for your preparation and application process. Don’t wait until the last minute – plan strategically based on this date.
  • Relaxation Criteria: Leverage the relaxation provisions based on your category. These are designed to provide equal opportunities. If you belong to OBC, SC, ST, or are physically disabled, understand the extent of relaxation applicable to you and tailor your preparation accordingly.
  • Attempts Limit: The number of attempts you can take also varies by category (General – 6, OBC – 9, SC/ST – No limit). Plan accordingly to maximize your chances. Don’t waste attempts by rushing into the exam unprepared.
