What are UN resolutions?

• UN Resolutions are Formal decisions or declarations made by United Nations bodies, primarily the General Assembly or Security Council.
• Non-binding (General Assembly): Most resolutions passed by the General Assembly are recommendations and are not legally binding.
• Binding (Security Council): Security Council resolutions, especially under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, are legally binding and can enforce sanctions, authorize military action, or establish peacekeeping missions.
