Har Ghar Tiranga: Yesterday marked the beginning of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, a national movement aimed at instilling a sense of patriotism among citizens. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged people to actively participate in this initiative, which will continue until the 15th of August. Taking to social media, Mr. Modi urged individuals to upload their pictures with the Indian national flag at harghartiranga.com.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Tiranga represents the spirit of freedom and unity, and every Indian shares an emotional connection with it, which in turn motivates them to contribute towards the progress of the nation. Over three crore people have already uploaded selfies with the tricolour.
Additionally, Mr. Modi appealed to the public to change their social media display pictures as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga movement. He called for widespread support to this distinctive effort, aiming to strengthen the bond between the nation and its people.
Under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Ministry of Culture is coordinating the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. This celebration seeks to commemorate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with the participation of all, fostering increased collaboration and Jan Bhagidari (people’s participation). In the recent episode of Mann Ki Baat on Akashwani, Prime Minister Modi urged individuals to hoist the tricolour at home to mark Independence Day. He also emphasised the importance of continuing the Har Ghar Tiranga tradition, which achieved tremendous success and public participation last year.
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, kickstarted the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign with fervor on Sunday. The campaign, aimed at fostering a deep sense of patriotism, commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag on the grounds of the Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur. Yogi Adityanath, who holds the dual role of Chief Minister and the mahant (head priest) of the temple, marked the occasion by taking a selfie with the fluttering tricolor. This initiative, launched on the eve of the 77th Independence Day, seeks to unite citizens under the banner of the Indian flag.
Through initiatives like ‘Har Ghar Tiranga,’ Uttar Pradesh is infusing the spirit of unity, patriotism, and remembrance into the hearts of its citizens, fortifying the bonds that tie the diverse fabric of India together.
“Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign was officially launched on Sunday in Haryana’s Nuh district in the wake of the communal violence that occurred on July 31. Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khargata unveiled the campaign, which aims to promote unity and harmony through the display of the national flag.
Under this campaign, every household and establishment in the district will proudly hoist the Indian national flag. The inaugural event featured a yatra (procession) organized by the residents of Hilalpur village in the Indri block. Khargata noted that the campaign will continue throughout the district until August 15, encompassing various events and activities.
The district of Nuh recently witnessed unfortunate communal clashes, resulting in the loss of six lives, including two home guards and a religious leader. The violence originated when a procession organized by the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) was attacked by unruly mobs in Nuh, subsequently spreading to the neighboring city of Gurugram.
Deputy Commissioner Khargata also announced that the curfew imposed in Nuh will be temporarily relaxed on August 14 and 15, allowing residents to participate in the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. This gesture is aimed at fostering a sense of normalcy and unity among the people of Nuh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon citizens to upload photos with the national flag on the website. You can upload your selfie with the tricolor on the Har Ghar Tiranga website. The purpose of this initiative is to commemorate the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, as declared by the Ministry, in 2022.
