The theme for World Science Day for Peace and Development 2023 is “Building Trust in Science”.
World Science Day for Peace and Development was proclaimed by UNESCO in 2001 as a positive outcome of the 1999 World Conference on Science in Budapest. It was first celebrated on November 10, 2002.
World Science Day for Peace and Development has produced many concrete projects, programmes, and funding for science around the world. It has helped to foster cooperation between scientists living in regions marred by conflict, such as the creation of the Israeli-Palestinian Science Organization (IPSO).
