Context: The Ministry of Textiles recently launched the VisioNxt Initiative by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).
VisioNxt—a Trend Insights and Forecasting Initiative:
- About: VisioNxt is India’s first-ever fashion trend forecasting initiative. This service will establish India as a leader in the global fashion sector.
- The initiative focuses on delivering trend insights and forecasting for the Indian fashion and retail market.
- It also offers various trend related consultancy services, academic courses, workshops etc.
Significance of VisioNxt:
- First AI and EI-Enabled Fashion Forecasting: This is the first-ever Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Emotional Intelligence (EI) enabled Fashion trend analysis and forecasting initiative with a unique indigenous Deep Learning AI model and Indian Taxonomy of 50+ Indian products.
- Reduced Dependence on Global Agencies: India’s forecasting system reduces reliance on international trend agencies by offering unique insights tailored to Indian fashion consumers.
- Bilingual Portal: The VisioNxt portal is available in Hindi and English.
- ‘DeepVision’ AI Model: The DeepVision model decodes Indian fashion trends by identifying attributes like style, colour, and patterns using advanced AI architecture.

Startup Accelerators of MeitY for Product Innovation, Development and Growth (SAMRIDH): Bolstering Indian Software Startups

Context:
The 2nd Cohort of Startup Accelerators of MeitY for Product Innovation, Development and Growth (SAMRIDH) was launched. About SAMRIDH:
- SAMRIDH is a flagship programme for startups acceleration under National Policy on Software Products 2019
- Nodal Agency: Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology
- Implementing Agency: The scheme is being implemented by MeitY’s Start-up Hub (MSH), Digital India Corporation (DIC).
- Aim: To support 300 software product startups with outlay of ₹99 crore over a period of 4 years.

PCIM&H achieves key ISO/SO IMS certifications

Context: The Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy (PCIM&H) has achieved the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Integrated Management System (IMS) Certifications.
More About the News:
- PCIM&H, under the aegis of the Ministry of Ayush, is an institution dedicated to establishing and maintaining standards for Indian medicine and homeopathy.
- The certifications pave the way for enhanced global recognition and setting a new standard for excellence in Indian Medicine & Homeopathy.
- PCIM&H has been awarded IS/ISO certificates for:
- Quality Management System (QMS)
- Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS)

Poshan Tracker initiative

Context: The Ministry of Women and Child Development won the National Award for e-Governance 2024 (Gold) for its Poshan Tracker initiative under Poshan 2.0.
About Poshan Tracker Initiative:
- Poshan Tracker is a cutting-edge ICT application which plays a vital role in evaluating nutritional status and spot any deviations from expected growth process.
- The program uses real-time data to assess children’s growth patterns (ages 0-6) based on WHO growth charts,
- It compares height and weight to age and sex standards.
- It enables Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) to spot growth deviations and ensure timely interventions for better nutritional and health outcomes.
About Poshan 2.0
- Poshan 2.0 is continuation of the National Nutrition Mission launched in 2018 to reduce malnutrition, stunting, and anemia in children and lactating women.
- Major initiatives under the scheme are Anganwadi Services, the Scheme for Adolescent Girls, and Poshan Abhiyaan.
- The mission focuses on maternal nutrition, infant and young child feeding, treatment of Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) and Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), and wellness through AYUSH.

Startup Accelerators of MeitY for Product Innovation, Development and Growth (SAMRIDH)

Context: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) launched SAMRIDH to select and support 125 startups through potential accelerators.
About SAMRIDH:
- SAMRIDH is a flagship programme of MeitY for startups acceleration under National Policy on Software Products – 2019.
- The SAMRIDH programme was launched in August 2021 with an aim to support 300 software product startups with outlay of ₹99 crore over a period of 4 years.
- SAMRIDH provide services like making products market fit, business plan, investor connect and international expansion to startups plus matching funding upto ₹40 lakh by MeitY.
- The scheme is being implemented by MeitY Start-up Hub (MSH), Digital India Corporation (DIC).
