UPSC Attempt for SC/ST: Candidates from the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories have certain benefits in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. These benefits include relaxed age limits, unlimited attempts, and reserved seats, which provide an advantage in the competitive exam. One of the most notable benefits for SC/ST candidates is the unlimited number of attempts in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, up to the upper age limit. While candidates from other categories have a limited number of attempts, SC/ST candidates can attempt the exam as many times as they wish. However, they have to attempt to do so within the prescribed age limit.

The age relaxation for SC/ST candidates is also provided to the SC/ST candidates by the UPSC. SC/ST candidates get the age relaxation of 5 years compared to the general category (upper age limit of 32 years). Therefore, candidates can appear for the exam until the age of 37 years.
