71st National Film Awards 2025

71st National Film Awards 2025, held on September 23 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, celebrated the pinnacle of Indian cinema for the year 2023. President Droupadi Murmu conferred awards across various categories, recognizing excellence in acting, direction, and technical achievements. Shah Rukh Khan and Vikrant Massey jointly received the Best Actor award for their performances in Jawan and 12th Fail, respectively. Rani Mukerji was honored with the Best Actress award for her role in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. 

The prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for lifetime achievement was presented to Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. Regional films like Kathal (Best Hindi Film), Bhagavanth Kesari (Best Telugu Film), and Parking (Best Tamil Film) were among the top winners. The ceremony underscored the diversity and richness of India’s cinematic landscape.

Dada Saheb Phalke Award Winners 2025

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2025 was given to one of the most celebrated actors, Mohanlal. He is often called “The Complete Actor” for his immense contribution to the Malayalam cinema while also leaving a mark across Indian cinema as a whole. He has over 360 films and a career spanning over four decades. 

From Kireedam and Bharatham to Vanaprastham and Drishyam, Mohanlal has portrayed a wide range of roles with unmatched versatility. He has previously received the Padma Shri (2001), Padma Bhushan (2019), and multiple National Film Awards. His selection for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2025 is a recognition of his lifetime contribution.
