Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Sachet, an Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), made a port call at Maputo, Mozambique, during its overseas deployment to Africa.
- ICGS Sachet carried 20 metric tonnes of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) material, including medicines and medical stores, for handover to Mozambican authorities.

- ICGS Sachet is an Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).
- It is the first of five OPVs built by Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) under the Make in India initiative.
- Name: The name Sachet means “Conscious”; Symbolizes the Indian Coast Guard’s motto “To Serve and Protect.”

- Indigenous Build: Designed and constructed in India with advanced navigation, communication, and surveillance systems.
- Displacement: Approximately 2,400 tonnes; with Top Speed: 26 knots
- Armament and Equipment:
- Fitted with a 30-mm gun for defense operations.
- Features a helicopter deck for aerial missions.
- Carries high-speed boats for boarding, patrolling, and rescue operations.
- Mission Capability: Suitable for patrolling, anti-smuggling, anti-piracy, and search-and-rescue (SAR) missions.
- Deployment: Operates along the Western Seaboard to strengthen maritime security and surveillance within India’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
- Significance: Supports the vision of “SAGAR” (Security and Growth for All in the Region) by enhancing regional maritime safety.
