UPSC Indian Forest Service Exam 2024: The Indian Forest Service Mains 2024 examination is set to be conducted on November 24 onwards. It is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). is a distinguished and challenging process aiming to enlist officers for the Indian Forest Service. It is an integral part of the broader civil services examination, designed to identify individuals with a genuine passion for forestry, environmental conservation, and wildlife management. There are three important stages of this exam, Prelims, Mains, and the interview. Candidates who have qualified for the Prelims will appear for the UPSC IFS Mains 2024 exam.
The Indian Forest Services (IFoS) Exam 2024 notification was released on the official website. However, the candidates who have qualified for the Prelims exam, conducted on June 16, 2024, are now set to appear for the IFoS Mains exam. UPSC has released the IFoS Mains 2024 timetable. The examination will be conducted in two sessions – Forenoon (9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon) and Afternoon (2:30 PM – 5:30 PM). According to the notification, The UPSC IFoS Vacancy 2024 is expected to have around 150 positions for various forestry services. The IFoS Mains Exam 2024 is conducted for candidates who clear the Prelims. It includes six papers: General English, General Knowledge, and four optional papers based on the candidate’s selected subject from the provided list. The Main examination tests in-depth knowledge and critical thinking, with 300 marks for the personality interview that follows. The Mains will take place in November 2024, as per the official schedule.
The Preliminary Exam for IFoS is a screening test conducted alongside the Civil Services Prelims Exam. It consists of two papers—General Studies and CSAT—each of 200 marks. Candidates need to qualify for the Prelims to move to the Mains. The Prelims was conducted on June 16, 2024.
