• Launch: 2021
• Type: Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) with select Central Sector components (CS).
• ​​Ministry: Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
• Objective: Build a resilient, inclusive, and technology-enabled public health system from village to district level.
• Policy Alignment: Builds on the National Health Policy (2017), National Health Mission (2005), and Ayushman Bharat (2018).

• Core Components: 
• • Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs): Upgradation of Sub-Health Centres and Primary Health Centres into AAMs for comprehensive primary care.
  • Block Public Health Units (BPHUs): Strengthening health administration and service delivery at block levels.
  • Integrated District Public Health Labs (IPHLs): One per district to boost diagnostic and surveillance capacity.
  • Critical Care Hospital Blocks (CCBs): Establishment in districts with populations exceeding five lakh to enhance tertiary care.
  • Urban Health & Wellness Centres: New AAMs in slum and underserved urban areas.
  • Pandemic Preparedness: Creation of a real-time IT-enabled disease surveillance network integrating block, district, regional, and national laboratories for early outbreak detection and response.
