The UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026 and Indian Forest Service (IFoS) 2026 notifications have been officially released on 4 February 2026. The online application window is open from 4 to 24 February 2026.
Although the notification release was delayed from the earlier schedule of 14 January 2026 due to administrative reasons, the Prelims exam remains on 24 May 2026, and the Mains are scheduled from 21 August 2026. The Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination 2026 will be held from 22 November 2026 (Sunday) and continue for seven days. This gives selected candidates ample time after the Mains to prepare for the IFS descriptive papers, which focus heavily on science and environment subjects.
