Indian Diaspora

Context:

Indians form a big chunk of diaspora in Canada with a majority of immigrants, foreign students, and workers in Canada are Indians.

Recently, India suspended visa services in Canada. This has reportedly led to anxiety among students, their families, and other travelers who aspire to go to Canada.
Indians form the largest share of immigrants, foreign students, foreign workers, and other groups in Canada.
- India overtook China and the Philippines to form the highest share of immigrants in Canada in the 20162021 period.
The share of ethnic/cultural groups who belong to the second or third generation shows that the share of Punjabis is highest, followed by Tamils and Gujaratis.
