The Ministry of Textiles approved startups in technical textiles to boost innovation and sustainability during the 7th EPC meeting of the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) under the GREAT scheme.

Role of Empowered Programme Committee (EPC)

• The Empowered Programme Committee (EPC) has approved 7 startup proposals under the GREAT scheme.

• Government Funding for Startups:

  • The Government of India (GOI) provides up to INR 50 lakhs in funding support for each startup for a period of 18 months. 

• Approved Startup Proposals:

  • So far, 8 startup proposals have been approved.
    • These startups focus on various technical textile sectors, including sustainability, composites, high-performance textiles, medical textiles (meditech), and smart textiles.
