Bima Sakhi Yojana
Context: Recently, ‘Bima Sakhi Yojana’ was launched to economically empower rural women and promote financial inclusion under the “Insurance for All by 2047” mission.
About the Bima Sakhi Yojana
- Objective: To empower rural and semi-urban women through skill training and employment in the insurance sector, ensuring wider access to social security.
- Implementing Bodies: Ministry of Rural Development in partnership with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).
- The initiative is part of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM).
- Target Group: Women aged 18–70 years, primarily Self-Help Group (SHG) members from rural areas.
- Minimum qualification: Class X pass
- Aimed at creating 2 crore Lakhpati Didis by 15th August 2025.
- Role & Training: Women trained as Bima Sakhis at the Gram Panchayat level will receive specialized training and stipend for the first three years

- Bima Sakhi will earn a monthly stipend of Rs 7,000 in the first year, Rs 6,000 in the second year, and Rs 5,000 in the third year.
- After training, eligible to work as LIC agents and Outstanding performers can qualify for Development Officer roles in LIC.

Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025
Context: The 14th edition of Exercise Bold Kurukshetra was commenced in Jodhpur, strengthening bilateral military cooperation between India and Singapore.
About Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025
- Exercise Bold Kurukshetra is a joint military exercise between the Indian Army and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).
- Participants: Involves the 42 Singapore Armoured Regiment of the 4 Singapore Armoured Brigade and India’s Mechanised Infantry Regiment.
- Key Objective: To enhance interoperability, operational readiness, and deepen bilateral defence cooperation through joint training and validation of mechanised warfare procedures.
Exercise Format
- Designed as a Table Top Exercise (TTX) and Computer-Based Wargame (CBW).
- Focuses on mechanised warfare scenarios under United Nations (UN) mandate.
- Will conclude with an equipment display by the Indian Army.
