About Sant Kabir Das

• Kabir was born in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

Language and Style

• Kabir’s poems were composed in Sadhukkadi, also known as Panchmel Khichri, a mix of dialects like Khadi Boli, Braj, Bhojpuri, Marwari, and Awadhi.
• Some of his works, like Mor Hīrā Herāïl Bā Kichaṛe Me(), were written in pure Bhojpuri.
• Kabir wrote bhajans (devotional songs) and dohas (couplets) about human values, unity, and spirituality.
  • His writings were in Hindi, making them easy to understand.

• Kabir’s poetry covers different aspects of life and encourages loving devotion to God.
• He rejected rituals and emphasized inner faith and devotion.

Famous Literary Works

• His compositions are found in books like Kabir Bijak, Kabir Parachai, Sakhi Granth, Adi Granth (Sikh scripture), and Kabir Granthawali (Rajasthan) and Anurag Sagar.
• Many of his verses were collected by Guru Arjan Dev and included in the Sikh scripture, Guru Granth Sahib. His verses are found in the Satguru Granth Sahib of Saint Garib Das,and Kabir Sagar of Dharamdas.
