IRS Age Limit 2027 is expected to be 21 to 32 years as on 1 August 2027. Candidates must be born between 2 August 1995 and 1 August 2006. UPSC also provides age relaxation for SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-servicemen, and other eligible categories as per the official Civil Services Examination rules.
Candidates aspiring to join the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) through the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2027 must fulfil the prescribed age criteria before applying. Since the IRS is one of the services allocated through the UPSC Civil Services Examination, the same age limit and relaxation rules notified by UPSC are applicable.
Note: The official UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2027 Notification has not been released yet. The information provided below is based on the UPSC CSE 2026 Notification and will be updated after the official UPSC CSE 2027 notification is released.
As per the expected UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2027 notification, candidates applying for the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) must be between 21 and 32 years of age as on 1 August 2027. Accordingly, only candidates born between 2 August 1995 and 1 August 2006 will be eligible to apply, subject to the applicable age relaxation for reserved categories.

UPSC accepts only the date of birth recorded in the candidate’s Matriculation, Secondary School Leaving Certificate, or an equivalent certificate recognised by the Commission.

Candidates belonging to reserved and specified categories are eligible for upper age relaxation as prescribed by UPSC.
