He often mentioned that he wore footwear for the first time when he entered college at the Madras Institute of Technology (MIT). This institution became a stepping stone for his academic journey. In 1980, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from MIT.
Driven by his passion for aerospace engineering, Sivan continued his studies at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore.
