The 18th G20 Summit was held in New Delhi, India on September 9-10, 2023, under the theme “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The world is one family). • Advocacy for Developing Nations: India emerged as a strong voice for the developing world at the summit. For example, India called for more equitable access to resources, fair trade practices, and adequate climate finance. 
• Consensus Building: India demonstrated its diplomatic prowess by playing a central role in building consensus among the G20 countries. E.g.: India’s take on the Ukraine war at the G20 summit was to call for peace. The Delhi Declaration stated, “Today’s era must not be of war”. 
• Championing Inclusivity: India’s strong advocacy for the inclusion of the African Union in the G20 was a significant achievement. It would make the G20 more representative of the global community and would help to ensure that the forum’s reflect the interests of all countries.
• Cultural Diplomacy: India’s vibrant cultural heritage was on full display during the G20 summit. Through various side events showcasing arts, music, and cuisine, India effectively utilized its soft power to strengthen its cultural ties with other countries and foster international goodwill.
