Oommen Chandy, an Indian politician and statesman, held the position of the tenth chief minister of Kerala for two terms: from 2004 to 2006 and again from 2011 to 2016. According to the party, the body of the prominent Congress leader Chandy was transported from Bengaluru to Thiruvananthapuram on the afternoon of the 18th. Satheesan, the Leader of Opposition in the Kerala assembly, announced that the funeral ceremony will take place at Puthuppally church near Kottayam on the afternoon of the 20th.
