Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is a flagship government scheme launched in July 2015 to provide free, job-ready skill training to Indian youth aged 15–45. Over 1.4 crore people have benefited in the last 10 years across sectors like IT, healthcare, construction, and more, with certified training, placement support, and recognized credentials under the Skill India Mission.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana is one of the most impactful steps taken by the Indian government to handle unemployment and improve practical skills. This scheme was launched in July 2015. Under this scheme, a plan was made to train one crore youth by 2020. The aim is to give young people the skills that industries actually need.
