Kailasavadivoo Sivan, commonly known as Dr. K. He often mentioned that he wore footwear for the first time when he entered college at the Madras Institute of Technology (MIT). This institution became a stepping stone for his academic journey. In 1980, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from MIT.
Driven by his passion for aerospace engineering, Sivan continued his studies at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore.
