The selection process for the UPSC CAPF Assistant Commandant (AC) Exam 2025 is designed to assess candidates across three critical stages: Written Examination, Physical Efficiency and Medical Tests, and the Interview/Personality Test. Each stage evaluates different skills and competencies essential for the role of an Assistant Commandant in the Central Armed Police Forces.
The written examination consists of two papers designed to test the candidate’s general aptitude, intelligence, and communication skills. Both papers are conducted offline and are as follows:
Candidates must score above the cutoff marks in Paper I to qualify for the evaluation of Paper II.
Candidates who clear the written exam will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Examination. These tests are qualifying in nature and assess the physical fitness and medical suitability of the candidates for paramilitary roles.
Candidates must meet the required physical standards for height, weight, and vision. Specific medical criteria, including eyesight, hearing, and general health, are evaluated.
Only candidates who successfully clear the PET and Medical Examination will proceed to the next stage.
Candidates who clear the PET and Medical Examination will be invited for the Interview/Personality Test, which carries 150 marks. The interview is conducted by a panel of experts, and the marks obtained in this stage play a crucial role in the final merit list.
The final merit list is prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the Written Examination (450 Marks) and the Interview/Personality Test (150 Marks). A total of 600 marks are considered to determine the candidates’ ranking.
