UPSC CSAT syllabus: Demystifying CSAT for Administrative Success

Every year, the Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Services Exam for All India Services and various other Group A services of the Indian Government. These services predominantly entail administrative roles. Aspiring candidates aiming to enter these services must successfully navigate a year-long examination, consisting of the Preliminary exam, Mains exam, and Personality Test. 

To secure a position in these services, the cutoff marks from the previous year serve as decisive factors, guiding candidates in pacing up and designing their preparation strategy. If we broadly see the prelims paper it is composed of two papers one is Paper I which is of General Studies and second is Paper II which is of CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test). In prelims examination Paper Marks are considered for evaluation for prelims results only whereas Paper II is qualifying in which candidates have to score 33% marks of maximum marks of paper II. So, it becomes important for candidates to qualify the CSAT exam to have their General Studies paper evaluated.
