Shri Durishetty Anudeep secured the All India Rank (AIR) 1, making him the UPSC 2017 AIR 1 topper. He belongs to the OBC category. Mr. Anudeep holds a BE (Electronics & Instrumentation) degree from BITS, Pilani. His optional subject was Anthropology. Ms. Anu Kumari was the top female candidate, achieving an overall second rank. She studied BSc (Hons) in Physics from Delhi University and an MBA (Finance & Marketing) from IMT, Nagpur.

The top 25 candidates included 17 men and 8 women. These individuals came from diverse academic backgrounds. Engineering, Sciences, Management, Law, and Medicine were common fields.
