Aditya Srivasatava clinched the First rank in the UPSC CSE exam 2023, with Animesh Pradhan, Donuru Ananya Reddy, P K Sidharth Ramkumar, and Ruhani following closely to complete the top five positions. Furthermore, among the top 10 rank holders are Srishti Dabas at sixth position, Anmol Rathore at seventh, Ashish Kumar at eighth, Nausheen at ninth, and Asihwarayam Prajapati at tenth.
As per the UPSC Final Result 2023-24 of the UPSC CSE Exam 2023, 1,016 candidates out of 1,143 have been recommended for positions in various services like the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’. Additionally, the status of 355 recommended candidates is provisional.

Aditya Srivastava, a youth hailing from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, has achieved the highest position in the renowned UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023.
Srivastava’s educational path is remarkable. He finished his schooling at CMS Lucknow’s Aliganj campus, where he is said to have performed exceptionally well in his Class 12th examinations, securing an impressive 95%.
In 2019, Srivastava embarked on his professional path by joining Goldman Sachs, a top-tier investment bank, stationed in Bengaluru. Motivated by a commitment to contribute to his country through civil service, Srivastava made a significant sacrifice. He left his lucrative role in investment banking and moved back to his hometown after 15 months with Goldman Sachs to fully dedicate himself to preparing for the UPSC exams.
Despite facing obstacles, such as initial failure in 2021, Srivastava persisted in pursuing his dream. His determination paid off in 2022 when he achieved the 236th rank in his second attempt. Continuing his efforts, he reapplied in 2023 and ultimately attained the highest rank.
Aditya’s strategy for preparing for the UPSC Civil Services exam is all about working smart, not just hard. Instead of solely relying on traditional study methods, he focuses on analyzing previous years’ question papers and identifying patterns in how questions are framed. This helps him understand what to expect and how to approach each question effectively. In addition to studying basic books, Aditya makes sure to utilize all available resources, which keeps him updated on current affairs. He also takes full advantage of technology, using tools like Google and ChatGPT to clarify doubts and deepen his understanding of various topics.
Aditya Srivastava, originally from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, completed his schooling there before pursuing a dual degree in Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur. Hence, he opted for Electrical Engineering as his optional subject in the UPSC CSE Exam 2023.
