Group A in the Civil Services refers to the Central Services. These services are involved in the administration of the Union Government. The Central Civil Services (Group A) appointments are made by the President of India.

There are a total of 24 different posts in the Civil Services that are filled through the Civil Service Examination (CSE) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
