Social Institution: A family is a social institution characterised by a bond of common beliefs, religion, customs, culture, language, and a way of life. It carries on the heritage and traditions as legacies from earlier generations to the next generation. For example, the prayer tradition.

  • Role of Grandparents in Cultural Transmission: Grandparents preserve family traditions and pass down values and customs. Their life insights complement parental guidance, offering unique perspectives. They also foster intergenerational bonding.
