Recent Updates: PMAY-U 2.0 Announced

In August 2024, the government introduced Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0, a five-year extension aimed at providing affordable housing to 1 crore additional urban families. This phase introduces new verticals, expanding its scope to include rental housing and increased subsidies.

  1. Phase I: April 2015 – March 2017, covering 100 cities.
  2. Phase II: April 2017 – March 2019, covering an additional 200 cities.
  3. Phase III: April 2019 – March 2022, covering the remaining cities.
