LBSNAA Training Period: IAS Training at LBSNAA

IAS Training at LBSNAA will be held for a total of two years. The officers must enrol in the two-year LBSNAA IAS training programme upon passing the UPSC IAS Exam. Members of various public service jobs, such as IFS, IPS, IRS, IFoS, etc., must finish a two-year IAS Training at LBSNAA before entering their particular cadres and services. IAS Training at LBSNAA: A Complete Two-Year Courses

All IAS officers must successfully finish a two-year LBSNAA IAS training programme that equips them with the skills necessary to serve the nation. Here are the courses of IAS Training at LBSNAA:

Phase I: IAS Training at LBSNAA

Phase I IAS Training at LBSNAA is the first part of the LBSNAA IAS training programme. It consists of a 15-week academic module and a Bharat Darshan, or winter study tour.

Bharat Darshan Training: Following the conclusion of the foundation training, all Officer Trainees are grouped according to their respective posts and brought on a Bharat Darshan (tour of India) to learn about the rich cultural history of the country. Spans almost 20,000 kilometers throughout India. Meetings with leaders from around the nation are part of the Bharat Darshan, including an official gathering with the President of India. A week-long assignment at the Lok Sabha Secretariat in Delhi is also part of the OTs.

Academic Instruction (12 weeks): Subjects covered are Law, Economics, Indian Constitution, Management & Behavioral Sciences, Public Administration, ICT, and regional language proficiency. Approximately 400 teaching hours are devoted to these subjects.

Co-curricular Activities: Include weekend treks, literary festivals, theatre workshops, film festivals, and events organized by various clubs.

Zonal Days: Feature showcasing the culture and cuisine of allocated cadres.

Inter Services Meet (SANGAM): A 3-4 day event promoting inter-service camaraderie.

After Phase-I: Officer Trainees undergo one-year district training in their allotted cadres.

District Training: IAS Training at LBSNAA

Following Phase I of the IAS Training, OTs are required to participate in district training for one year. During district training, they examine the operations and management of a specific district. This phase of district training is to gain a deeper comprehension of the difficulties, and problems with development, solutions, and execution.

Phase II: IAS Training at LBSNAA

IAS Training Phase II begins with an overview of Phase I and each OT’s district training experience. They talk about a range of problems and difficulties with district development during phase II of IAS Training at LBSNAA. Phase II also consists of special seminars with subject matter experts covering various topics.

Assistant Secretaryship: IAS Training at LBSNAA

Officers join their departments following the conclusion of their induction training. IAS Training at LBSNAA: Programme Schedule

LBSNAA IAS training programme concentrates on soft skills development, public administration, and management, as well as personality development. The following is a schedule of events for the IAS Training at LBSNAA:

  • The day starts with a 60-minute workout at the Polo Ground, which kicks off the day at 6:00 AM.
  • Following that, you have roughly one and a half hours to get ready, eat breakfast, and get ready for class modules.
  • Six academic sessions, each lasting 55 minutes, comprise the classroom schedule, which begins at 9:30 AM. 
  • It covers a variety of courses, including social studies, history, political science, economics, law, public administration, and management.
  • From 5:00 PM. until 7:30 PM, there are sports and riding activities for the officers.

  • Officers can also participate in extracurricular activities like rock climbing, paragliding, short treks, and river rafting on the weekends and holidays. 
  • In general, there are about 16 activities in a typical LBSNAA IAS training programme day, which adds up to about 80 hours of involvement every week.

Educational Facilities at LBSNAA: 

IAS Training at LBSNAA is handled in large, well-equipped classrooms with the newest audio-visual equipment, as well as capabilities for video conferencing and recording. The Academy consists of four primary buildings: 

  • Aadharshila – A few classrooms and a computer lab are available at Aadharshila.
  • Dhruv Shila – Dhruva Shila and Gyanshila are home to the professors and administrative offices.

Housing at LBSNAA:

The trainee officers will stay at the Academy during the two-year IAS Training at LBSNAA. The Ganga, Kaveri, and Narmada hostels are the three options available to incoming recruits. Every LBSNAA hostel room has double occupancy, central heating, television, and a phone. 

The Mid Career Training Programme of IAS Training at LBSNAA is housed at Valley View Executive Hostels, Happy Valley, Silverwood, and Mahanadi. 

The Kalindi Guest House serves as housing for visiting academic members. In the Brahmaputra Awas building, the academy also offers studio flats for associate faculty members and fellows.

Athletic Centre at LBSNAA:

With venues for basketball, volleyball, squash, badminton, football, cricket, yoga, gym, and more, LBSNAA boasts an outstanding sports complex. In addition, the trainees receive instruction in self-defence, rock climbing, shooting, archery, and horseback riding while doing IAS Training at LBSNAA

Library at LBSNAA:

The Gandhi Smriti Library at LBSNAA has more than 1.65 lakh books, 5000 CDs and DVDs, 300 periodicals and magazines, and 38 newspapers in its collection. There is also a photocopying facility provided during IAS Training at LBSNAA.

Medical Centre at LBSNAA:

The Academy also has a medical centre with physicians and nurses working there. There’s also a diagnostic lab, an X-ray facility, a dentistry unit, and physiotherapy units.

Computer Services at LBSNAA:

The computer department of the LBSNAA Academy handles bookkeeping and data processing. During the IAS Training at LBSNAA, you can also experience cutting-edge software and a fast internet connection.

Facilities for Persons with Disability:

People with disabilities are taken into consideration in all of the LBSNAA’s amenities. Officer candidates in the Persons with Disability category can use access ramps and lifts with Braille codes in any building at the academy.
