Core Demand of the Question
|
Persistent disruptions in Parliament have eroded its deliberative character, weakened executive accountability, and diluted representative law-making. Frequent adjournments, declining debate time, and confrontational politics have raised concerns about democratic backsliding, making institutional reforms essential to restore parliamentary effectiveness and credibility.
Institutional reforms can revive Parliament only when complemented by political will, ethical leadership, and respect for democratic norms. Strengthening committees, accountability tools, and decorum must go hand-in-hand with consensus-building to ensure Parliament functions as a deliberative, representative, and accountable democratic institution.
