A total of 30 Tableaux (17 from States/ UTs and 13 from Ministries/Departments/ Services) will roll down the Kartavya Path this year.
Republic Day Parade 2026 Chief Guest- President of the European Council Mr Antonio Costa and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will be the Chief Guests for the Republic Day Parade (RDP) 2026. their visit coincides with ongoing India-EU Free Trade Agreement talks. The Republic Day Parade 2026 commemorated 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’, celebrating its enduring role in India’s freedom movement and national consciousness. The theme was prominently reflected across Kartavya Path through curated paintings, tableaux, floral decorations, videos, and invitation designs inspired by Vande Mataram.

A series of paintings by Shri Tejendra Kumar Mitra (1923), based on the verses of Vande Mataram, were displayed as view-cutters along the parade route.
A ‘वंदेमातरम्’ banner was unveiled, followed by the release of rubber balloons at the conclusion of the parade.
Pan-India band performances on the Vande Mataram theme were held from 19–26 January 2026 by the Armed Forces and CAPFs, including at Bankim Bhawan Gaveshana Kendra, West Bengal.
Tableaux were presented under the themes “स्वतंत्रता का मंत्र – वंदे मातरम” and “समृद्धि का मंत्र – आत्मनिर्भर भारत”.
Citizen engagement through MyGov and My Bharat platforms saw participation from 1,61,224 people, with top winners invited to witness the Republic Day celebrations.
The event follows a well-planned schedule, starting with the arrival of the President of India, followed by military and cultural displays.
