UPSC Attempt Limit for SC/ST

One of the most notable benefits for SC/ST candidates is the unlimited number of attempts in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, up to the upper age limit. While candidates from other categories have a limited number of attempts, SC/ST candidates can attempt the exam as many times as they wish. However, they have to attempt within the prescribed age limit.

SC/ST Age Relaxation for UPSC

The age relaxation for SC/ST candidates is also provided to the SC/ST candidates by the UPSC. SC/ST candidates get the age relaxation of 5 years compared to the general category (upper age limit of 32 years). Therefore, candidates can appear for the exam until the age of 37 years.

If you are in the SC/ST category and also fall under the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) or Ex-servicemen categories, you can receive additional age relaxation based on both categories.
