The UPSC CAPF Selection Process 2025 involves a three-stage procedure designed to evaluate candidates’ intellectual, physical, and personality traits. The UPSC CAPF exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the role of Assistant Commandant (AC) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).  These three stages are the Written exam (Paper I and Paper II), PET, and Personality test. Candidates have to clear all these stages in order to make it to the final merit list.

Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Test Evaluates candidates’ physical fitness and medical suitability for paramilitary roles.

UPSC CAPF AC Selection Process 2025 Stage 1

The Written Examination is the first step of the selection process and consists of two papers:

  • Paper I tests logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and general awareness.
  • Paper II focuses on essay writing, comprehension, and precise communication.
  • Candidates must qualify in Paper I to have their Paper II evaluated.

UPSC CAPF Interview/Personality Test

Candidates who qualify for both stages I and II are summoned for the interview round. This stage is critical for determining the final merit list and requires a confident and composed approach. The Interview/Personality Test is the final stage of the selection process.

The final merit list is prepared based on the cumulative scores of:

  • Written Examination (250 marks + 200 marks)
  • Interview/Personality Test (150 marks)
