The UPSC ESE is conducted in three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Interview. The Mains exam is descriptive in nature and tests candidates’ in-depth knowledge of their engineering discipline.
The Mains examination will be conducted in two shifts on a single day. In the morning session, Paper I had been held, and in the afternoon session, Paper II will take place. Both papers are specific to the candidate’s chosen engineering discipline — Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics & Telecommunication.
