'CHARAK' Scheme

Recently, Under the guidance of the Ministry of Coal, Singrauli based Coal India arm Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) has started ‘CHARAK’- scheme.

Overview of ‘CHARAK’ Scheme

It is an innovative health-centric Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
Purpose: To provide free treatment for life-threatening diseases to patients from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in the Singrauli region.

Key Features of the Scheme

Free Treatment Facilities:
- Treatment is provided at NCL’s hospital (NSC) or empanelled specialized hospitals across India.
- Covers various life-threatening diseases for eligible patients.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Residents of Singrauli (Madhya Pradesh) and Sonbhadra (Uttar Pradesh) districts.
- Annual family income must be below ₹8 lakh from all sources.
Diseases Covered:
- Cancer (Malignancy)
- Tuberculosis (TB) and related complications
- HIV-related complications
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Organ transplants
- Severe burns causing permanent disability
