Perks and Allowances of IAS Officers

Apart from their basic salary, IAS Officers are entitled to a certain amount as an allowance to cover their expenses. Some of such allowances are:

  • Dearness Allowance (DA): Dearness Allowance is a component of their basic salary, aimed at negating the impact of inflation. It is revised regularly.
  • House Rent Allowance (HRA): It is a monetary grant for their residential purpose. It depends on the city they serve and generally ranges between 8% to 24% of the basic pay.
