The UPSC Mains Schedule 2026 gives candidates a clear timeline for planning their revision. Since the examination is conducted over two weekends, candidates should use the available days effectively instead of starting new topics.
Prepare your revision according to the order of the examination. Give priority to the Essay paper and General Studies Papers I to IV before shifting your focus to the qualifying language papers and optional subject papers.
UPSC Mains is a descriptive examination. Write answers regularly to improve speed, structure, and presentation. Try to complete practice papers within the prescribed three-hour duration.
Use concise notes, mind maps, and current affairs compilations during the final weeks. This helps improve recall and reduces revision time.
Take mock tests under actual examination conditions. Practising according to the official schedule helps build writing stamina and improves time management.
In the last few weeks before the examination, focus on revising completed topics. Strengthening your existing preparation is more effective than covering entirely new subjects.
